The proper unfolding of the entity of the creator brings forth the creation. When auspicious wishes and selfless striving of altruistic personalities mixed with the concept and thinking of the creator as complementary then only a big creation comes of. At the down of foundation of this college a host of erudite personalities came forward with a common august mission in 1971. After the retirement from kalyani B.T. College prof.late Birendramohan Acharyya approached to Late Lieutenant Colonel Dwijendranath Bhattacharyya, the then supreme authrity of "Bhagirathi Silpasrams", with a wish to set up a B.T. College and the professor was provided with three two-storied buildings annexed to the Silpasram to found College. Bhagirathi "Post Graduate Teacher's Training College" took birth There as an affiliated college of Calcutta University on and from 1st july, 1971. But within a short while college changed its name as "Bhagirathi College of Education" and became affiliated to the University of Kalyani and this is the promising start of a magnanimous teachers' traing institute.
