Our institution's beginnings may be traced back to the visionary efforts of Prof. Late Birendra Mohan Acharya of Kalyani B.T. College and Lt. Col. Dwijendralal Nath Bhattacharyya, the driving force behind Bhagirathi Shilpashram. Our college was first established by annexing two-storied buildings to Bhagirathi Shilpashram. On July 1, 1971, Calcutta University recognised Bhagirathi Post Graduate Teachers' Training College.
